A collection of intimate spaces — each revealing a new facet of Gusii culture, natural beauty, and thoughtful luxury.
The social spaces at Humphreys Hill House were intentionally fragmented — a design philosophy born during the COVID period to preserve privacy and intimacy. You can wander from the alfresco terrace to the basement bar, from the Skybox to the poolside sheds, without ever feeling enclosed.
Each facility has been designed as its own world — with its own character, its own light, and its own story to tell.
An intimate mirror of sky for no more than 6 guests at a time — designed for peaceful, private swims overlooking the valley. Shaded pavilions provide cover. Open daily 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Our signature open-air restaurant serves garden-to-table cuisine with panoramic forest and sunset views. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily from 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM, celebrating local Gusii produce.
Five private rooftop lounges — Skyboxes 1 and 2 for conferences (up to 40 guests each), Skyboxes 3 and 4 for executive meetings (up to 20), and Skybox 5 — the legendary rooftop bar where "Humphreys Convo" unfolds every first Saturday of the month.
A hidden den beneath the hillside — pool table, foosball, darts, PlayStation 4 corner, and traditional Bao board games. Happy Hour runs 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM daily. The perfect escape for an evening of laughter and friendly competition.
A fully equipped gym with cardio machines, free weights, and panoramic forest views. Open 5:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Included for all hotel guests. A wellness spa combining Gusii traditional healing with modern therapies is coming soon.
Wander through indigenous forest paths, sculpted gardens, and quiet reading corners. Our grounds are home to birds, butterflies, and the gentle sounds of the Kisii hills. A green sanctuary to slow down and breathe.
A miniature gallery of Kisii soapstone carvings, artisan crafts, and curated cultural artefacts sourced from local Gusii artisans. Every piece tells a story. Take a piece of Gusii heritage home with you.
Starlink high-speed internet throughout the property. Secure on-site parking. 24/7 concierge for reservations, transport, cultural tours, and any special arrangements. We make every detail effortless.
Egalaro ki Omogusii
Rising from the red earth of the Kisii highlands, the Mogiti Cultural Pavilion is complete. Its sweeping, arc-shaped silhouette, framed by an iconic terracotta steel lattice facade, stands as a living home for Gusii heritage, performance, and community gathering. Named for the Mogiti — the traditional meeting ground of the Omogusii people — it seats over 300 guests and hosts cultural symposia, storytelling circles, art exhibitions, seasonal festivals, and grand celebrations.
The Pavilion sits at the heart of our Cultural Village, surrounded by traditional thatched homesteads, a soapstone sculpture garden, and open-air thatched lounges that overlook the valley. Together, they form a complete cultural ecosystem unlike anything in the region.
Over 40 original Gusii soapstone works installed throughout the hotel grounds and entrance. Each one telling a story of the Omogusii people, carved by master artisans.
Our Skybox collection and Mogiti Pavilion offer unparalleled settings for corporate meetings, private celebrations, and cultural events.

The Humphreys Hill House was built with the land, not against it. Every kilowatt of power comes from the sun. Every litre of water is harvested from the sky. Every meal celebrates the soil of Kisii.
